Original Composition 'Love at First Sight' by Yuen Yuen.

Written in 2023, 'Love at First Sight' is a piano solo piece written to describe a magical moment of two people meeting. Heavily influenced by Chopin and Hollywood romance scenes, it nevertheless features some difficult jumps in the recapitulation.

Original Composition 'The Leaves of Autumn' by Yuen Yuen.

Written between 2017 - 2018, 'The Leaves of Autumn' is inspired by the falling leaves of the season. The opening section mirrors the journey of a single leaf falling from the tree, then swayed gently by the currents before touching down. The middle section is an explosion of the unspoken emotions built up from the previous and then eventually returning somewhat to the calmness of the opening section to finish. The falling fifths represents the inevitable winter that is to come.

Original Composition 'Waiting in the Dark' by Yuen Yuen.

Written in 2018, 'Waiting in the Dark' is a piano solo piece which is slightly different from my usual style - an absence of melody. Evoking the image of a princess trapped on top a tower waiting endlessly for her prince, the absence of melody as well as the repeating harmony served to create an internal struggle and helplessness. The middle section is somewhat more hopeful with the suggestion of a melody, but it never really came. The piece ends with a simple, yet bleak, chord in B-flat minor.

Original Composition 'Even Angels Weep' by Yuen Yuen.

Written in early 2015, 'Even Angels Weep' is a piano solo, describing moments where we wished a guardian angel would be by our side to shed a tear for us. The piece tends to use higher registers of the piano and contains numerous 'sighing' figurations.
